We were surprised that 4x and 5x made the same pattern. 2x and 7x made the same pattern. we were not surprised that 1x and 10x were the same - but 8x was a surprise! We were not surprised that 3x and 6x were the same. The 9x was a funny pattern! We know why. Do you?
Are you a tall rectangle, a wide rectangle or a square? Most of us are tall rectangles, 2 are wide rectangles and we have one sqaure - the same measurement floor to top of head as finger tip to finger tip. We also measured other parts of our body like our neck, waist, foot, handspan...
We are playing a place value game with sharks (100s) fish (10s) and eels (units). We start at zero and shake two dice (1-9) and add the numbers together. Then we take our fish. The first to get a shark wins. Or we can start with a shark and subtract the dice numbers - the first to zero wins.
We are learning to use ShowMe on the ipad. Today Albane and MinJong made one about pictographs.7/10/2013 Today we played a game. Can you make a shape and describe it using words like parallel lines, perpendicular lines, right angles, isosceles, polygon, regular, four sides etc to describe it to your partner? Can they draw your shape?
